“The Proposal – Part 1″

So, yeah, Hipster Picnic is more than slightly autobiographical. You know, except for the whole post-apocalyptic cartoon zombie San Diego landscape thing and this scene. Why is Hawk getting down on one knee? Doesn’t he understand that there are only two things that this gesture can mean?

A man getting down on one knee can mean is that he is about to ask a girl to marry him is the most unoriginal way possible to propose. If this is Hawk’s intent (and we will find out on the next page) this is the most un-autobiographical element of the entire comic. Even if I was going to propose, there is no way I would do it by getting down on one knee. I am a cat who prefer’s a bit more originality than that.

(Here’s some proof: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/…)

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bashing on dudes who get down on a knee. Hey man, a gesture is a gesture – it’s just that one isn’t for me. Mostly I am saying that if this is a marriage proposal by Hawk to Girl, it is a major departure from autobiography. I am going to have words with the writer.

Oh… Wait.

Then again, maybe this isn’t a proposal. Maybe Hawk is going to ask something idiotic. Who knows? (I do, but that isn’t the point). If the case is that Hawk is about to ask something idiotic, it can only mean two things: 1) Hawk is a moron or 2) Hawk IS A TERRIBLE PERSON. Hawk would be a moron for not knowing the panic presented when a man symbolically gets down on a knee to ask a question or Hawk is a terrible person because he knows it will panic Girl and HE DOES IT ANYWAY.

Again, I am not this dumb or terrible. Hawk may actually be. Guess we will have to find out on the next page.
